Facts on Porn

Pinkcross_promo  Pornography is now mainstream culture. Our sexual obesity and hyperactive libidos have created a deceptive fantasy that all's fair in love and lust. Only… it's not fair at all. Users are slaves to lust and producers are slaves to money and the performers are slaves to everyone else.

Shelley Lubben was porn star. In 2 years she appeared in 40 films before contracting herpes. After that, she exited stardom, but continued to prostitute. Enter Jesus: after hitting those ever-sharp rocks at the very bottom, Shelley's life turned around. Now she and her husband run the Pink Cross Foundation — assisting people who want to exit the lifestyle, especially the porn star lifestyle. They work to debunk myths and educate people about the dangers of pornography.

Here are a few facts you may want to be aware of:

~ 75%-90% porn stars are prostituted women (while prostituted doesn't always mean trafficked, the two are inextricably linked); the act you pay to get is just that: an act.

~ the largest demographic viewing online pornography is the 12-17 year old category

~ more than 11 million teens view porn online

I cannot stress enough the destructive force pornography has on our culture, our youth especially. Glorifying fantasies, objectifying men, women and children, and neglecting fulfilling relationships, it causes nothing but devastation wherever it goes. And right now, it can waltz into any home with internet access with the greatest of ease.

Father's Day is coming up… parents, take this time to tell your children (sons and daughters) that sex isn't an object for sale. People are not commodities ready and willing to gratify us. People are the creation of God and must be treated as such.
