"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood"…
Exodus Cry is a ministry fighting on the frontlines of trafficking. When we think of fighting slavery, we think of busting down doors to brothels, arresting makers of kiddie porn, or acting cloak-and-dagger by going undercover.
That's Hollywood. I've stood in the middle of a sweatshop while undercover and believe me… that last thing you feel like is a hero.
Every action, every thought, every desire, every evil, every righteous act is ALL ALREADY KNOWN. Jesus Christ is at the head of this battle and it's foundations are fought against the rulers… the principalities… the authorities… the demonic of this dark world…
That's their take on the condition of slavery around the world. Pretty sobering. Here's how the body of believers can boldly confront the wall of darkness that surrounds trafficking. Remember what the Underground Railroad is doing: bringing light to small places in a big world. Where there is light, evil has nowhere to hide.
Jesus came to set the captives free… each and every one of us knows what it's like to be ensared by something(s). We know the devastation… we know the futility and guilt… we know the pain… and we know how hard it was to accept Jesus Christ's total and unconditional love for us. It is no different for a child in Burma or Thailand being sold for sex. It is no different for a boy being sold for porn in Amsterdam. It is no different for a woman in India being sold into a brothel. It is no different for an aboriginal woman being sold from her reservation into the cities. Jesus came for us… for them… and it is just as hard, if not harder, to fight for their freedom.
But it can be done. "… on earth as it is in heaven".
